Game 1: Spartans 4 – Decepticons 3
 
In a very close match, the Spartans came away with a victory over the Decepticons in Game 1 of their series.  The score was 4 – 3 early in the third period for the Spartans.  Decepticons had a powerplay at the end of the game to tie it up but couldn’t get the offence going.  Spartans hung on for a 4 – 3 victory.  Christian St-Cyr scored 2 goals and 1 assist in the win.  Mathieu Richer and Charles Williams each had 2 points in the loss.  David Mucciardi made 30 saves in the win and Steve Durand was solid as he made 37 saves in the loss.

Game 1: Decepticons 12 vs Wolfpack 4


A game that was going on one side.  It was 5-1 after 1 period, Charles Williams had already 2 goals in that period and one that was a nifty!  It was 9-3 after 2 period…For the Wolfpack, Ethan Feigenbaum had 3 goals.  Very precise shots that past Steve Durand.  For Decepticons, Mathieu Richer had another blast, and all their women had some points!

3 stars:
1st: Mathieu Richer with 5 goals, 2 assists for Decepticons
2nd: Charles Williams with 3 goals, 1 assist for Decepticons
3rd: Ethan Feigenbaum with 3 goals.

Game 1: Decepticons 9 – Wolfpack 2
 
The Decepticons came out with a huge victory in Game 1 over the Wolfpack despite the shots being almost even.  The Wolfpack couldn’t solve goaltender Steve Durand as he was solid in nets.  The Decepticons were led by Mathieu Richer as he scored 4 goals and had 1 assist in the win.  Conrad Stewart and Charles Williams each had 2 points in the game.  For the Wolfpack, Ethan Feigenbaum had 2 assists in the loss.  Erik Heft, the captain had to take care of the goaltending duties and he had no help on this night.  He made 26 saves on 35 shots and Steve Durand made 31 saves in the win.

Spartans 4 – Decepticons 2:
 
The Spartans doubled up on the Decepticons in a hard fought battle and guaranteed them a first round bye.  The Spartans were up 2 – 0 after one period and scored two more in the second to go up 4 – 1.  Mathieu Richer made it 4 – 2 early in the third, but the Decepticons couldn’t mount the comeback.  Christian St-Cyr scored 2 goals in the win and six other Spartans each had 1 point.  Mathieu Richer and Dianah Johnson scored a goal each in the loss.  Steve Durand was solid by making 46 saves in the loss and David Mucciardi made 27 saves in the win.

Decepticons 4 vs Hotshots 3

Another sweet revenge her.  Last time, Hotshots made a huge comeback and the goalie was hot for them.  This time, Decepticons won it by scoring a goal on power play with 4 minutes left in the game. And this time, Decepticons  goalie was solid. Tempers were going high in the third period.  Aman Rai was the best for his team Hotshots with 1 goal, 1 assist.  For Decepticons, Sherry Page scored the winning goal on power play.  Shots: 29-28 for Hotshots.

Decepticons 9 - Kings 2:
 
The Decepticons controlled the first two period of this game and came out with a big 9 - 2 victory.  They jumped out to an early 5 - 0 lead after one period.  The Decepticons were led by Shawn Wheatley and Sherry Page.  They 4 and 3 points respectively.  Stevie Ross and Marc Fortin-Salhani each scored a goal for the Kings in the loss.  Stephane Desormiers made 38 saves on 47 shots.  Steve Durand made 29 saves on 31 shots.

Spartans 9 – Decepticons 4:
 
The Spartans moved up in their division with a big win over the Decepticons.  They started early with some early goals.  At one point, they scored 5 goals on 8 shots.  It was a tough night for Steve Durand in nets.  Guillaume Proulx-Cabana scored 2 goals and added 4 assists in the win.  Benji Teboul and Christian St-Cyr both had a 3 point night.  Mathieu Floriot scored 2 of the four goals in the loss and Mathieu Richer picked up 2 assists.  Steve Durand made 38 saves in the loss and David Mucciardi made 21 saves for the win.

2nd Star: Christian St-Cyr – 3 Goals

Decepticons 5 vs Ground Squirrels 2

It was a close game.  The score was 2-1 for Decepticons after 2 periods.  Decepticons scored 3 goals in the 3rd, pouring some shots on the goalie.  Conrad Stewart had a good offensive game and Jean-François Auger got the game winning goal.  For the Ground Squirrels, Jamal Burgin was the only guy to score some goals.

1st: Conrad Stewart with 2 goals, 1 assist for Decepticons
2nd: Jean-François Auger with 1 goal, 1 assist (game winning goal) for Decepticons
3rd: Jamal Burgin with 2 goals for Ground Squirrels

Eggs & Bacon 6 vs Decepticons 5

Another tough loss for Decepticons.  They were trailing 3-0. But each time they were not far to even the game, E&B got this goal that hurt.  Decepticons did their best to tie the game, their goalie was solid in the 3rd, giving only one goal.  Nicholas Ste-Croix did make the difference in that game for E&B.

2nd: Mathieu Pauzé with 2 goals for Decepticons
3rd: John Wong with 3 assists for E&B

Hotshots 6 vs Decepticons 5

 

A huge win for Hotshots that were missing their top guys (Mike Nols, Aman Rai, Rav Kang, Gaétan Lanthier).  Sub Goalie for Hotshots was making some key saves and Daniel Sohmer scored 5 goals, and 3 of them were in the 3rd period to steal the game!  Decepticons doubled the Hotshots 48-24 for the shots on net.  Mathieu Pauzé had 2 goals and Sherry Page 3 assists for the Decepticons.

2nd: Paul Gill with 1 goal, 2 assists for Hotshot

Decepticons 9 – The Ground Squirrels 1:
 
The Decepticons defeated the GS in a big way.  They dominated them in the scoreboard though the shot count was quite even.  Charles Williams led the way by scoring a hat-trick.  Sherry Page was the story of this game as she scored 1 goal and added 4 assists.  Frank Kachanoff scored the lone goal for the Ground Squirrels and Sylvain Leonard picked up an assist in the loss.  Steve Durand made 27 saves on 28 shots and Randy Beaver made 23 saves on 32 shots.

2nd Star: Charles Williams – 3 Goals
3rd Star: Carole Brunette – 3 Assists

Decepticons 10 – Kings 0:
 
The Decepticons defeated the Kings in a big way.  They dominated right from ball drop.  The game ended in a mercy with over nine minutes remaining in the third period.  Shawn Wheatley had a heck of a game.  He scored a hat-trick and added two assists.  Sherry Page also contributed with a hat-trick of her and picked up one assist as well.  The Kings only managed 11 shots on goal.  Steve Durand had a laid back game by making all 11 saves.  Stephane Desormiers made 30 saves on 40 shots.

Eggs & Bacon 6 – Decepticons 5:
 
The Decepticons and Breakfast team renewed their rivalry once again as they battled in a hard fought game.  The game was scoreless after one period, but the second and third period saw lots of goals.  Eggs & Bacon were down 5 – 4, until they scored two goals late to win the game.  Mathieu Richer scored 2 goals and had 1 assist in the loss and Francois Fafard scored 2 goals and added 3 assists in the win.  Darren Egett made 14 saves on 19 shots and Steve Durand made 25 saves on 31 shots.
